Influencer marketing is now an established form of online marketing. Influencer marketing is leveraging the reach of an existing influencer who has built a large following and strong brand reputation in a particular niche to support your brand, endorse your product, or co-create content, with the intent to increase brand awareness and drive sales. This form of marketing is a hybrid of old and new marketing tools. It takes the idea of celebrity endorsement and places it into a modern-day content-driven marketing campaign. An influencer is someone who has the power to affect the purchasing decisions of others because of his or her authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with his or her audience. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, many businesses have started operating more on the digital platform and this has caused many opportunities for the influencers in the market. The companies are investing in influencing marketing in 2020 for their new products and services as for many reasons such as

  • The Influencers are not some viral celebrities who would market your product or your services straight up for money, the audience they have gathered is homogeneous and they have to maintain their certain reputation. The product or service they would market would be something in which they believe in and have some relevance for their audience. For example:-  A makeup influencer wouldn't promote or market a product unless he/she has tested and believe in that product.
  • The audience interaction is a key factor. The Influencers conduct a much more interactive and convincing marketing for their audience as they have a vast knowledge about digital media marketing tools. A 5-minute detailed video about the product is far better than a 30-second ad by a celebrity.
  • Another major service that the Influencers provide to the companies is that they make the audience completely aware of the product with their own unique ideas, which makes a win-win situation for everybody. For instance, a fashion Influencer is marketing a clothing line of a company so he/she would be showcasing those products with different outfits, stating the benefits of the product over the other competitive brands. This will help in grabbing much more attention from the audience.
  • Many influencers don't have millions of followers but that doesn't mean they don't have an influential audience. Getting such Influencers to market your product for small businesses is a great opportunity as these influencers have a vast outreach which helps in getting attention from the people for the new companies. This method of marketing also helps small businesses to expand as it's economically friendly.
  •  Lastly by interacting in positive and constructive ways on influencers’ social pages, you gain early access to their followers. You're not promoting anything to them; you're showing your face as a member of their community, adding to your credibility down the line. So eventually, when you do propose some kind of influencer marketing collaboration, they'll already know you.

The Influencer's marketing is rising at the moment and with the correct knowledge about the digital world one can lay a solid foundation for the expansion of their business.
